Apart from some federal programs, the immigration authorities of Alberta also propose some immigration streams under the Alberta PNP. Only one of these streams is aligned with Express Entry. Concerning other non-aligned Express Entry streams, there is no need to be in the express entry pool.
The Alberta PNP has several different categories that serve different purposes, and the streams are categorized mainly into two. i.e the stream for foreign workers living and working or planning to live and work in Alberta and Stream for entrepreneurs who want to work and live in Alberta by establishing a business in the province.
It is designed to help employers in Alberta to fill jobs that cannot be filled by Canadians or permanent residents under the Alberta PNP.
To qualify for the AOS, foreign nationals must: Have a valid job offer from an employer in Alberta, have the necessary qualifications and work experience and meet the eligibility requirements for the position, and meet all other Alberta PNP criteria.
The AEES allows the province to nominate individuals in the federal Express Entry pool who meet specific criteria under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
To qualify for the AEES, candidates must:
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) offers several entrepreneur-focused pathways for individuals interested in establishing, purchasing, or operating a business in Alberta. These pathways are designed to attract experienced entrepreneurs and business owners who can contribute to the province’s economic growth, create employment opportunities, and support local communities.
Entrepreneur applicants are generally assessed based on factors such as business ownership or management experience, business plans, investment capacity, net worth, and the potential economic benefit of their proposed business venture in Alberta.
As eligibility requirements and selection criteria may change periodically, applicants should refer to the latest AAIP guidelines before applying.
The entrepreneur pathways under the AAIP may include streams for rural entrepreneurs, graduate entrepreneurs, foreign graduate entrepreneurs, farm operators, and other business investors, depending on current program availability and provincial priorities.
You will need an initial consultation with our experienced and licensed immigration consultants to find a suitable program and start with the process.
