Study in Spain

Visa for study stays more than ninety days. A study visa is not necessary for stays under ninety days. Depending on the applicant's nationality, a short-stay visa can be necessary. The visa will be valid for the study stay, and obtaining a Foreigner Identity Card will not be required, provided the stay does not exceed six months for those who study in Spain. 

Your spouse will need a Family Reunification Visa to travel with you as a non-EU student in Spain. For the term of the student's residence permit, spouses or registered partners of international students are permitted to reside in Spain. Evidence of your relationship (such as a marriage certificate), your student visa or residency permit, evidence of enough financial resources, and the spouse's health insurance coverage are among the documents you will need to provide. Your spouse could work lawfully after obtaining the visa while you study in Spain.

Many courses are available to students in both Spanish and English. At least one course will be available for them to take, fully or partially, in English. International students must present a language proficiency certificate to enrol in an English-language course. Students enrolled in English-taught courses must pass exams like the TOEFL and IELTS when they study in Spain.

With a post-study work visa, international students can work in Spain after graduation. They can also apply for a high-skilled immigrant visa, a freelancer visa, or a work permit visa after they study in Spain. Students can remain in Spain for a maximum of one year after graduation. Before their student visa expires, students must apply for this visa at least sixty days in advance. Students require documents, including a university degree, evidence of financial assistance, and health insurance. Students are eligible to apply for a freelancer visa but must have a thorough business strategy, specific objectives, and projected financials. After a year of full-time study in Spain, students can apply for a highly skilled immigrant visa. 

Following graduation, international students who study in Spain often have two options to consider:

a. Visa for Job Search

Applying for a job search visa, which permits you to remain in Spain for a maximum of 12 months while seeking work in your field of study, is possible if you have graduated from a Spanish university after you study in Spain.

b. Employment Agreement

If you receive a job offer before your student visa expires, you can switch to a work contract and stay in Spain while working after you study in Spain.

You can apply for PR in Spain after five years of lawful residence and employment after you study in Spain.
